Tips to Choose the Best Tropical Vacation Destination
In my first blog post here I’d like to share with you some tips on how to choose the best tropical vacation destination. Here are five things that you should take into consideration:
1. What is the local climate? Some tropical places are rainy most of the year and the dry season is very short. Make sure that you don’t take vacation in the wet season, because in some tropical places it means that it rains every single day. You should also check local temperatures – in some places in the cooler season temperatures can drop to 68°F (20°C) at night and stay around 77°F (25°C) in the day which may not be what you’re looking for if you like very warm weather.
Also, don’t forget to check water temperatures – in some tropical places it’s too cold to swim in the ocean in the cooler season for a longer period of time!
2. Is it very remote? Some tropical island nations are very remote so it’s a little bit harder to visit them. If you want to take one-week vacation, it doesn’t make sense to visit these places because you need flexible dates to find flights (let alone spend two days traveling).3. Looking for white sand beaches and turquoise water?
If you want to relax in a place with beautiful white sand beaches and crystal clear turquoise lagoons, always check if your potential destination is known for them. In some places such as Costa Rica you won’t find many beaches of this type.4. What about tropical diseases?
If you want to take vacation with your family, it’s very important to check if your potential destination is safe for your children. In some countries such as Mauritius or The Seychelles there’s a higher risk of tropical diseases so these places aren’t a good choice if you have small children.5. Is it popular with tourists?
If you want to spend your vacation in a tranquil and quiet place, you should avoid tropical vacation spots popular among tourists such as Big Island, Phuket or some Caribbean islands. Choose places of the beaten path – less developed, but more tranquil such as The Cook Islands or Fiji. Another good idea is to choose a bigger country such as Indonesia where there are many “hidden gems”.Remember that without proper research you can end up disappointed. Don’t neglect it – read as much as you can about your every potential destination and cross off every place that doesn’t meet all your requirements. Make your vacation special and don’t make the decision until you are sure that you know a lot about your chosen spot. Have fun!
